Sparkling probiotic drink with citrus juices and mint, offering a refreshing, tangy sip made for summer.
# What You'll Need:
→ Probiotic Base
01 - 4 cups filtered water
02 - 1/4 cup organic cane sugar
03 - 2 tablespoons water kefir grains or ginger bug
04 - 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
→ Flavoring
05 - 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
06 - 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
07 - 8 fresh mint leaves
08 - 4 thin orange slices
09 - Ice cubes, as needed for serving
# How to make it:
01 - In a thoroughly cleaned glass jar, combine filtered water with organic cane sugar, stirring until completely dissolved. Add the water kefir grains or ginger bug and incorporate fresh lemon juice. Stir gently using a non-metallic spoon.
02 - Cover the glass jar with a breathable cloth or coffee filter secured by a rubber band. Allow to ferment at room temperature (68–77°F) for 24–48 hours, until light carbonation and tanginess develop.
03 - After fermentation, strain out the kefir grains or ginger bug using a fine mesh strainer. Reserve cultures for future use or discard as preferred.
04 - In a pitcher, blend the fermented soda base with fresh orange juice, lime juice, and mint leaves. Stir gently with a non-metallic spoon to combine.
05 - Fill serving glasses with ice cubes. Pour the soda mixture over the ice, garnish with orange slices and additional mint leaves if desired. Present immediately for optimal carbonation.
