Save Festive tortilla wraps filled with colorful veggies, cheese, and a creamy spread, shaped like Christmas trees and crisped to perfection in the air fryer—a fun, healthy, and eye-catching holiday appetizer.
I have made these wraps several holiday seasons and they never fail to impress both kids and adults with their taste and appearance.
Ingredients
- Wraps: 4 large spinach tortillas (or regular flour tortillas)
- Spread: 100 g cream cheese, softened, 2 tbsp sour cream, 1 clove garlic, minced, 1 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped, salt and pepper, to taste
- Veggies: ½ red bell pepper, finely diced, ½ yellow bell pepper, finely diced, 1 small carrot, julienned or grated, 50 g baby spinach leaves, roughly chopped, 50 g shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- Toppings & Garnish: 16 pretzel sticks (for tree trunks), sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional for snow), 1 small yellow bell pepper, sliced into stars (for tree toppers)
Instructions
- Step 1:
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, minced garlic, chives, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Step 2:
- Lay each tortilla flat and spread a quarter of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the surface.
- Step 3:
- Sprinkle spinach, carrots, red and yellow bell peppers, and shredded cheese evenly over each tortilla.
- Step 4:
- Roll up each tortilla tightly. Using a sharp knife, slice each wrap into 2 3 equal pieces on a bias to create tree shaped segments.
- Step 5:
- Insert a pretzel stick into the base of each wrap to form the tree trunk.
- Step 6:
- Use a small star shaped cutter to make stars from the yellow bell pepper, and press one onto the top of each wrap tree.
- Step 7:
- Optionally, sprinkle wraps with sesame or poppy seeds for a snowy effect.
- Step 8:
- Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F).
- Step 9:
- Arrange wraps in the basket, cut side up, without overcrowding.
- Step 10:
- Air fry for 6 8 minutes, or until crisp and golden. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Save My family always gathers around the kitchen while I assemble these wraps and the kids love helping shape the Christmas trees.
